Inspiration

In my work, which is unrelated to my hearts creative desire, I met a woman the other day, who in a few moments inspired me to pick up my needle at least 1 hour a day...no matter what!

She is a passionate rug hooker and she won the Viewers Choice Award in 2012 at the Green Mountain Rug Hooking Guild:

check out her beautiful rug:

It is called Koi Motion by Carol Murphy

check out the Green Mountain Rug Hooking website and read about Carol's rug and why she chose to create this particular piece at:

The Green Mountain Guild puts on the best rug hooking shows!!!!

Two years in a row I attended the Shelburne Museum for the shows and was absolutely "wow-ed" each time!
Amazing women!

Thanks for the inspiration!!!

p.s. the baby is asleep in my lap as I type this...he is a sparky, happy, playful little guy! I am pretty sure he had kennel cough when we got him. I did not know what it was until I began to notice how lethargic he was when we first got him home. The moment my daughter picked him up when we went to choose the puppy we wanted, he lay his little tiny head on her chest, clue one: he did not feel well.
Also, curious to me was why the breeder insisted we give him antibiotics, when I asked why??? I was told that they give all their puppies antibiotics when they leave...ummm that was clue two!
Anyway, he is perfectly healthy now and so well loved!!!

p.s.s. she has picked up her needle...if only for a few moments....

Have a great day!

  3. That rug is gorgeous! I tried rug hooking for awhile and I do enjoy it, just find knitting and sewing a bit more what I need. Glad puppy is feeling better. He is adorable.

  4. While attending one of the rug shows at the Shelburne Museum several years ago,
I was able to try rug hooking. They set up a stand where visitors could give it a try. I really enjoyed it, but knew I would have to spend $$$ to get involved it it and I already have invested in paint brushes, fabric etc. Perhaps someday I will consider it, but for now I am challenged to work on my quilting lol!
The puppy is such a cutie and is such a smart little thing! Such a joy.
    Thank you :)

  5. p.s. Carol's rug is amazing!!! It was really inspiring talking to her, because she said she can not draw, but she could hook the picture! Also, she did not make the rug to enter in the show, it just kind of came about.
