When I was between 22-24 I was determined to learn how to make beaded earrings. I had gone to a Renaissance Fair and they had a few vendors selling their beautiful hand made earrings, but they were so expensive. I thought to myself..."I can make those!" but how??? I went to a local library and came across an antique beading book, then somehow I met a woman who agreed to teach me how to make earrings if I paid her...so I did. From that point forward I made quite a bit of jewelry and everyone was encouraging me to start a little business and I did. I called it: Bede work meaning "prayer work", because it was like a meditation making the earrings. I never did really get my little fledgling business off the ground because shortly there after I had my first child. :)
Such adorable little heart pins ! Pretty beadwork too. This is something I should do more. Thanks for the inspiration, Marie and have a creative and relaxing weekend... if both can be;)
I like making the little heart pins because they are relatively quick. It has been a while since I have beaded anything too...very relaxing. Going into a bead shop is like a "candy store". :) You have a lovely weekend too! xo
Sweet heart pins, Marie -- I have never done beadwork, it intimidates me! I like the heart button, too....xoxo

p.s. back then, there was only 1 bead store in the heart of Houston,Tx and no books for how to bead available. Now they are everywhere! :)
