Frida and basil

I read in this magazine, Organic Gardening Aug/Sep 2011 issue that  on their Facebook Fans discussion
that Basil was in the top five favorite Summer herbs. I would have to agree.
Other favorites include: cilantro (my favorite), mint, parsley, oregano, rosemary, chamomile, peppermint, marjoram and chives.

Basil from my garden....

still working on Frida Kahlo.

I thought this was fun to see actual footage of Frida and Diego!

Lot's of changes for me, on the horizon.
until then....

Thought this was sweet

  1. Hi Deanna,

Thank you so much for saying that. I was having that "self talk" and not feeling 100% thrilled with the outcome so far.

Why are we so hard on ourselves lol?

You have made my day! : )

  2. I loved the short video, and the embroidery is coming along...

  3. Hi Gina,

I had never seen actual footage of Frida before although,
I have read articles/stories about her.
The embroidery is slow but sure : )

  4. Marie, that video is so great, I loved getting to see her, will watch it again. There is something about her...

Your embroidery is awesome. Did you draw that freehand? You do have a gift. xo

  5. Hi Woman with wings,

Yes Frida created a bit of an aura of mystery and magic around herself. She stepped "out of the box" for her time and was avant garde.
I will have to watch that little video again too :)

Yes, I drew the picture freehand :) Thanks <3

  6. Frida is looking great Marie! Hope the changes are good one.

  7. Hi Deb,

I am thinking of adding an embroidered frame with words written around the picture of Frida...thank you!

The changes are good, hopefully less stress and more time to create :)

  8. You did a great job drawing and embroidering Frida. Not only does it resemble her but it captures her personality, both strong and vulnerable.
