Inspiration

In my work, which is unrelated to my hearts creative desire, I met a woman the other day, who in a few moments inspired me to pick up my needle at least 1 hour a day...no matter what!

She is a passionate rug hooker and she won the Viewers Choice Award in 2012 at the Green Mountain Rug Hooking Guild:

check out her beautiful rug:

It is called Koi Motion by Carol Murphy

check out the Green Mountain Rug Hooking website and read about Carol's rug and why she chose to create this particular piece at:

http://www.gmrhg.org/Default.aspx?pageId=1463333

The Green Mountain Guild puts on the best rug hooking shows!!!!

Two years in a row I attended the Shelburne Museum for the shows and was absolutely "wow-ed" each time!
Amazing women!

Thanks for the inspiration!!!

p.s. the baby is asleep in my lap as I type this...he is a sparky, happy, playful little guy! I am pretty sure he had kennel cough when we got him. I did not know what it was until I began to notice how lethargic he was when we first got him home. The moment my daughter picked him up when we went to choose the puppy we wanted, he lay his little tiny head on her chest, clue one: he did not feel well.
Also, curious to me was why the breeder insisted we give him antibiotics, when I asked why??? I was told that they give all their puppies antibiotics when they leave...ummm that was clue two!
Anyway, he is perfectly healthy now and so well loved!!!

p.s.s. she has picked up her needle...if only for a few moments....

Have a great day!

The baby has arrived!!!

After a long wait the little guy has arrived! He has already begun to heal two broken hearts. Several years ago, I had to give my two Miniature Yorkies away because it was too much and I was moving and they could not come.
One had become attached to my daughter and the other was mine. We both were broken hearted, but now we have this sweet little tiny guy who just makes you smile with his sweetness...we are thankful!
He really is so cute in person...this is not a great picture...but you get the idea. After a night of holding him and letting him know just how much he is loved he has finally settled in and is willing to eat and sleep on his own.
Hope all is well and I look forward to being able to stitch again...till then xo <3

San Francisco

I thought I would quickly share my trip to San Francisco to see my eldest son.
He works in the city so I did not ask him to take me there to shop or do touristy things because I know he does not care to be there as he is always there. However, he did want to take me to one of his favorite restaurants...Gary Danko.

I snapped a few pictures of our drive. This is not the Golden Gate Bridge, but it runs almost parellel.

The only picture I got of my son...We just were not really thinking about pictures. It has been 4 long years since I had seen him. Too long!

This is a picture I already had of my son :)

A little gift the chef gives to the women before you leave the restaurant...banana bread.
I have to say this was the ultimate dinning experience. Waiters galore to serve you and every bite of food was beyond fabulous!!! It was expensive, but worth it. Nice for special occasions.

IN AND OUT BURGERS! :)

Let me just say this trip was all about the food! My favorite burger place. We got ours without the bun!
sliced pickles, homemade thousand island dressing, grilled onions, grilled burger wrapped in lettuce.

The airlines that took me out was suppose to get me to San Francisco by 11a.m. on Friday morning, but   it was 15 long hours! I did not arrive until 7:30pm. Needless to say, I was not happy...long waits, etc.
I just might have gone to the city and spent a little time there, but since it was late and the day was long, we opted to head to a local Mexican food restaurant and enjoy a Margarita with our dinner :)

I had high hopes of finding some crafty, fun kind of places, but did not know where to go. But, the creative Goddess was smiling at me and on my return trip there were a few delays, but not as bad. I do understand things happen, but I will not fly this particular airline again. I was waiting on my flight home from Philadelphia and I wanted to have a salad and could not find a vendor near my terminal , so I ventured to another part of the airport and LOOK what I found!!!!
The most amazing dolls ever!
I was trying to hurry, with my salad in hand to get back to my part of the airport so the pictures were snapped hastily! I wish I would have had time to linger and absorb what I was looking at...sigh!

The dolls are created by Ellen Benson.....

There were so many!!!

Fabulous!

Just fabulous!!!!

My book for the trip was this:

by my favorite author, Lynn Andrews

I am sooo grateful to have been able to go to Sunny California to see my beloved son!
I got to come back to snow...unbelievable!
It is all good :)

Times are changing

(My daughter is teaching me how to use my new phone and so we took a picture of me while learning about Instagram...so much technology...
I was told I need to "get with the times" and put away my little flip phone lol!)

I have been missing my blog postings and visits...
In this world we strive to improve and move forward upward in a positive direction and career-wise that has happened for me. Needless to say, I am soooo busy with work and family right now that it leaves me almost no free time for being creative. I hope once I settle in to my new career that I will be able to create a space of time for my beloved creative endeavors.
I will try to sneek a peek of all of you when I can and maybe even comment. Until then,
I am wishing all of you much joy and happiness!

Haberdashery, hearts and Mingles

Remember this?  Well, I finally hung it up so I would be reminded on a regular basis to finish it!
I really do not have all that much more stitching to do on it. I just need to allocate a little time to finish it.
So that was step 1 today. Step 2  I pulled out a few treasures...

Buttons, from the Mollie Makes Magazine. I love that they always give you a little "gift" of something crafty and wonderful with each issue. (These buttons came with the previous issue.)

If you are like me you have heard the word "haberdashery" before and know it has something to do with a shop, but what else?????

as per wikipedia:
A haberdasher is a person who sells small articles for sewing, such as buttons, ribbons, zippers, and other notions.

I am stitching hearts, and beading them....

The most fun find of all!!!!!
I am using my new...

"Mingles!"

by Sublime Stitching

and lastly,

I could not resist taking a picture of my daughter sleeping with our cat Mittens...
They both are little snuggly sweeties.
Have a great week!
