Right before Christmas my son went grocery shopping with me and asked for the pomegranate. Of course he picked the biggest one! lol! He dropped a few seeds while eating it and I saw how much they stained what ever they hit so I decided that it was the perfect dye. I think the pomegranate is interesting because I have seen it used in many ancient textiles. I used it in a tree of life quilt piece. (will have to show that one.) : ) <3
I am not even sure what I will use the fabric for. I just thought while I had the opportunity to dye the fabric with the pomegranate I should do it. I will come up with some idea...lol! : )
I think dying is like Forest Gump says, "Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know which one you are going to get" or something like that. lol! Thanks : )
I wish I had a great big piece of linen because I think my results would have been more striking....Instead I just used a piece of Kona muslin. I am also thinking I should have thrown in more small snippets of different fabrics, but I was in such a hurry as usual...
The pomegranate is such a beautiful rich color it makes it easy to photograph. : )
